Employment and Training Information

There are Employment Development Officers (EDO's) based at The Robertson Road Resource Centre. They will take referrals from Service Users within the centre who would like assistance to get a job. They will also take referrals from GP's, consultants, Jobcentreplus staff, social workers/care managers and from individuals who feel they need help because of a disability or mental health problem to be able to get a job.

As part of the process of getting and keeping a job, the EDO 's will:- Help clients to get 'on the job' training by guiding them to appropriate. projects or voluntary work:

• Help and advise with accessing college courses, (which may sometimes be held here at the centre).
• Help access funding for courses.
• Help and advise clients about benefits and support them at Jobcentreplus
• Help with job searches and applications.
• Speak to potential employers on behalf of clients.
• Support clients at job interviews.
• Help deal with any problems that may come up once someone has started work.
