Robertson Road Resource Centre, managed by Aberdeenshire Council Social Work Services was opened in 1987. The resource primarily provides day service opportunities to adults who have a disability. The criteria for access to service is outlined in the document guidelines for Community care services in Aberdeenshire.

The building is designed to give ease of access to people with a disability, which has proved vital to both day and evening users.

The culture of service provision is to provision is to provide an enabling environment in which each service user has the opportunity for personal development in the areas of social, physical and mental wellbeing. Due to the diversity of the service provided at this resource the following statement is a general overview only, and not an exhausted list.


At present the service provision appears to fall into a number of main areas such as leisure and recreation, life skills, employment and vocational training, further education, a specialised service for people who have a multiple disability and a mental health outreach project.

Support and Review of Individual Service Provision

The day service has a key worker system. This ensures that every individual has someone to support them while implementing the agreed provision of appropriate services for them.
